How does it work?

The basic function of a Lampe Berger is to, "eliminate bad odours by cleansing the air, whilst scenting and decorating the home."

In fact it will eliminate 68% of airborne bacteria, and is ideal for combating; cigarette smoke, cooking odours, pet odours, paint fumes and many other forms of household pollution.

The patented catalytic burner (as shown above) destroys odors and purifies the air, before dispersing the fragrance of your choice.

45 minutes of use is all that is necessary to purify and fragrance a room of up to 300 square feet.

The Lampe Berger Story

In 1898 inventor Maurice Berger (pictured), a Parisian pharmacist, utilised a unique process of catalytic combustion with surprising results.  In just a few minutes, the proliferation of bacteria in the air was slowed down, the air was purified and bad odours eliminated.  The Lampe Berger history had begun...

Due to these anti-bacterial effects, it was initially reserved for use within the medical world achieving great success during World War I.

With this success, the greatest creative minds of the period; Lalique, Gallé, the crystal workshops of Daum and Baccarat were quick to craft their visions into lampes.  Berger lamps were fashionable objects in the sitting rooms of the "Belle Époque" and were given a new function when fragrance was added to the alcohol.
