David Shuttle first opened his doors for business in December 1978 based in the desirable and exclusive market town of Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire. The original shop in Gregories Road experienced instant success, and over a period of steady growth a swift relocation was required.

In May 1983 a site on the enviable Penn Road became available and formed the home of our flagship store. After three extensions and numerous re-fits it has blossomed into one of the biggest and best independent Fine dining & Gift stores in the UK.

It became apparent over the years that despite the success and excellent reputation of the Beaconsfield store, trade was heavily localised. The solution was obvious and in August 1998 a second store in the sought-after market town of Princes Risborough opened for business.

Encapsulating everything that David Shuttle and the Beaconsfield store had grown to stand for, it maintains our traditions and continues to grow the business. 

In 2003 with the flagship store continuing to outgrow its surroundings and a growth in the cookware market, our third store and first independent Cookshop was launched. Located just 30 yards from our flagship store, it has become the epicentre for all Beaconsfield foodies. 

The most recent acquisition to the David Shuttle chain is our Gerrards Cross store. Having grown up in the town, it was a long standing target for David and he was keen to create an environment in-keeping with the style of the town. With this in mind the first Boutique Cookshop was born, and like all our stores we hope it has created a unique shopping experience.
