The first lovespoons date back to the seventeenth century. In Wales young men used to give their sweethearts a lovespoon. At that time they were hand-carved of wood. They were also intended to show the prospective father-in-law how skilled his daughter's choice was.

Robbe & Berking has now made a modern edition of the traditional amatory present. The lovespoon is made of (925) sterling silver and makes a beautiful and original present.
