Developed in 1898 by French pharmacist Maurice Berger, catalytic fragrance lamps were originally used in hospitals to purify the air. 20 years later, new lamp designs were developed to create aesthetically pleasing bottles for the home environment.

Catalytic lamps have become very popular because while air fresheners and room sprays make odours, fragrance lamps actively purify, cleanse and perfume the air in a wide area. Cooking, tobacco and pet odours can be effectively removed by using a fragrance lamp.

How to use your fragrance lamp

Fill your catalytic lamp with your chosen fragrance oil (max 75% full). Add in the wick and let it soak for 20 - 30 minutes. Once soaked, light the stone and let it burn for 2 to 3 minutes and then blow out. Place the decorative cap onto the bottle. The wick will continue to draw up the oil and fragrance your room. When you want to stop the fragrance from burning. Remove the decorative cap and snuff out using the snuffing cap.
