My leather strap is showing signs of wear - is this normal?

The variations in colour and texture in Olivia Burton straps are characteristic of tanned leather and over time may darken, fade or change in colour. This is an attribute of the leather and not a defect, fault or quality issue. In order to preserve the beauty of your leather, Olivia Burton do recommend treating your leather strap with a leather protector before wear, as this can help leather to resist dirt and moisture. They also recommend that you keep your leather strap away from intense sunlight, heat, water, humidity, makeup and perfume to prevent any damage or staining. Straps are not covered under warranty but Olivia Burton does hold limited stock of replacement straps that are available for us to order in for you.

Are the straps interchangeable?

The straps in Olivia Burton's gift sets have a special function on the back of the strap making them easily interchangeable at home. The straps available on all other watches do not have this special lever function, and therefore cannot be easily changed at home. You can replace your strap but would need to visit a local jeweller for fitting.

I want to buy a replacement strap - how can I do this?

Straps are available to order in, please contact Olivia Burton directly. Straps can be replaced as they are attached with spring bars - however, Olivia Burton do recommend taking the watch and strap to an independent local jeweller who should be able to attach it easily and inexpensively. They also offer a Vegan-Friendly range of watches and straps that feature synthetic leather.

Is my strap adjustable?

Links can be removed and added to Olivia Burton linked bracelet watches. Olivia Burton Big and Midi Dial bracelet styles can have a maximum of 3 links that can be removed from the bracelet. Their Wonderland bracelet styles can have up to 8 links removed. You can add as many links as needed to any of Olivia Burton bracelet watches.

Mesh Adjustment:

Position a flathead screwdriver or other adjustment tool in the slot on the clasp.

Lift the bar in the direction facing away from the straight pin. Ensure that the tool handle points towards the watch case.(Pressing the adjustment tool against the straight pin may bend and destroy it. Please take care when doing this.)

Slide the adjustable buckle to the desired position and finally press the clasp closed.

The plating on my watch is showing signs of wear, is there anything I can do?

Olivia Burton uses the best plating methods available but it is the nature of plating to wear over time especially when it comes into contact with body cream and perfumes. Olivia Burton always recommends removing your watch when it may come into contact with water, perfumes and body creams to help preserve its beauty. Rose Gold plating by nature is less durable and will fade quickly over time.

Is my watch waterproof?

Your watch is water resistant to 1ATM which is 10m (1 Bar). Olivia Burton do recommend removing your watch before swimming or bathing because leather straps are less resistant when exposed to water frequently. Although your watch is water resistant, they would advise removing before showering or entering a sauna. This is because extreme heat can cause watch seals to expand and create openings for water droplets to penetrate your watch. Please note any water damage to your watch is not covered under warranty.

My watch has condensation – what can I do?

If your watch experiences a sudden change in temperature or pressure, you may notice a condensation appearing under the crystal glass. This generally disappears by itself if left alone. Please do not attempt to aid this by exposing your watch to heat to dry it out as this may damage the watch and will only cause the condensation to persist.

How do I know what size my watch is?

Olivia Burton watches generally come indifferent case sizes:

The Big Dial is 38mm in diameter.

The Demi Dial is 34mm in diameter

The Midi Dial is 30mm in diameter.

The Mini Dial is 23mm in diameter.

The Big Square Dial is 30mm.

The Midi Square Dial is 23mm.

The Rectangle Dial is 20 x 25mm.

What is covered under the warranty?

Olivia Burton offers a limited warranty of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years after original purchase if purchased from an official Olivia Burton Stockist after 1st July 2016. If watches have been purchased prior to 1st July 2016, a one (1) year warranty is in place. The warranty does not cover batteries, glass, plating, straps or accidental damage caused by lack of care including water penetration.

How long should my battery last?

The average battery life is 12 months. All watches come with a battery saver in the crown which needs to be removed to activate the battery. To activate the battery, remove the plastic tab and press the crown into the side of the case. If your watch has stopped working, it's likely the battery needs replacing. Any local independent jeweller will be able to replace your battery. We offer a chargeable battery replacement service. Please contact our customer service team for more details. Please kindly note that battery replacements are not covered under warranty.
